What is HP graphite electrode?


HP Graphite electrode is a kind of high temperature resistant graphite conductive material made of  premium quality of petroleum coke with pitch and 30% needle coke. 

It is used in electric arc furnace and ladle furnace of a steel mill for manufacturing non-ferrous metals and medium-and low-grade steel. 


HP Graphite electrode is named after High Power Graphite Electrode, corresponding to the High power level of electric arc furnace.

 

HP Graphite Electrode Size & Dimension


The electrodes are assembled into columns. Furnaces using 3-phase AC (alternating current) electricity are 3 electrode columns; DC (direct current) furnaces are use 3 electrodes connected into one column, they are generally larger in diameter. The size of HP electrodes ranges from 200mm to 750mm in diameter, and 1600mm~2800mm in length.

HP Graphite Electrode Technical Parameter


The technical properties of the high power graphite electrodes are better than those of regular power graphite electrodes, such as lower resistivity, higher bulk density, higher mechanical strength, and lower linear expansion coefficient, excellent oxidation resistance and so on.
