Product Description
Graphite Electrode
SaTraD® Graphite Electrode – China graphite electrode distributor.
What is graphite electrode?
Graphite electrode is used in electric arc furnace (EAF) and ladle furnace (LF) of a steel mill for steel making, it is a part of the furnace roof structure and serve as a device conduct electricity into an electric arc furnace which generates sufficient heat to melt scrap steel. The tip of these electrodes can reach up to 3000oC~5000oC, which is approximately half the temperature of the sun. UHP Graphite electrode is an abbreviation for Ultra High Power Graphite Electrode. It's main ingredient is 100% high-value needle coke which is made from petroleum or coal tar. UHP electrodes have excellent mechanical strength, good thermal expansion, good thermal shock resistance and good machinability.
UHP Graphite Electrode Size & Dimension
Graphite electrodes are finished with a cylinder shape and machined with threads at each end. In this way, the electrodes can be assembled into an electrode column with graphite nipples.Furnaces using 3-phase AC (alternating current) electricity are 3 electrode columns; DC (direct current) furnaces are use 3 electrodes connected into one column, they are generally larger in diameter. The size of UHP electrodes ranges from 300mm to 750mm in diameter, and 1600mm~2800mm in length.
