2A12 aluminum alloy as know as Al-Cu-Mg series aluminum alloy, which is a kind of high-strength hard aluminum. It can be strengthened by heat treatment. State of plastic is good in the annealing and just quenching state. Electric welding is good, however, it has a tendency to form intergranular cracks when using gas welding. The alloy is hardened after quenching and cold work, machinability is good, but the machinability after annealing is low; The corrosion resistance is poor. Anodizing treatment, paint coating method, or surface covered with pure aluminum can be effectively protected;
Application Area
2A12 is mainly used to make various high-load parts and components (but not stamping forgings) such as aircraft skeleton parts, skins, bulkheads, ribs, spars, rivets and other working parts at the working temperature below 150°C.
